You feel like you’re always the driving force behind the relationship when it comes to commitment, whether your partner pushes or shuns the moment when its about making a long-term commitment with you, and you want to understand why men are afraid of commitment and, more importantly, what you need to do to change this.<\/p>\n

Men need to be with women<\/strong><\/p>\n

There is a difference in the need of engagement between men and women and it’s not what you think:<\/p>\n

Men need to be in a relationship with a woman.<\/p>\n

They are more dependent on women than women are on men.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

This is mainly due to our physiological differences.<\/p>\n

You may have noticed it yourself: men tend to stay single for shorter periods of time than women, they get back together fairly quickly after a breakup. Or, if they don’t, they may create a network of girlfriends or flirty relationships, or find themselves spending more time with their mother.<\/p>\n

So in itself, men are no more afraid of commitment than women, quite the contrary.<\/p>\n

Why do we still get the impression that men don’t want to get involved?<\/p>\n

Here are a few things to think about:<\/p>\n

You are meeting men who are a reflection of your own fear<\/strong><\/p>\n

If you tend to accumulate partners who don’t want to or can’t commit (because they’re already committed or because they live too far away from you), it’s often because you unconsciously have this fear of commitment:<\/p>\n

  • You’ve lived through love stories that have made you suffer<\/li>\n
  • Your parents’ role model wasn’t a happy version of commitment<\/li>\n
  • You saw that your mother did not flourish as a woman, so you unconsciously registered it as impossible being happy as a woman and being in love relationship commitment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    This fear is unconscious, which means that consciously you may want to get involved, but in reality it doesn’t work.<\/p>\n
