You can listen to <a href=\"https:\/\/sandykaufmann.ch\/fr\/89-modeles-d-attachement-et-systeme-nerveux\/\">episode 89 on that subject<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In episode 157 I go into the more specific impact of your relationship with your mother and your father on your love life.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2764\ufe0f Watch <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/sandykaufmann.ch\/en\/registrationpastwounds\/\">my webinar<\/a><\/strong> on how to finally be happy in love!<\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-a620e1c elementor-hidden-desktop elementor-hidden-tablet elementor-hidden-mobile elementor-widget elementor-widget-shortcode\" data-id=\"a620e1c\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"shortcode.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-shortcode\"><iframe name=\"Ausha Podcast Player\" frameborder=\"0\" loading=\"lazy\" id=\"ausha-5FJL\" height=\"220\" style=\"border: none; width:100%; height:220px\" src=\"https:\/\/player.ausha.co\/?showId=bjPkYiPMPlqo&color=%23d13523&podcastId=B44OPh2rVLEq&v=3&playerId=ausha-5FJL\"><\/iframe><script src=\"https:\/\/player.ausha.co\/ausha-player.js\"><\/script><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-b8d8830 elementor-widget elementor-widget-video\" data-id=\"b8d8830\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-settings=\"{&quot;youtube_url&quot;:&quot;https:\\\/\\\/youtu.be\\\/FcW5scqxSvU&quot;,&quot;video_type&quot;:&quot;youtube&quot;,&quot;controls&quot;:&quot;yes&quot;}\" data-widget_type=\"video.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-wrapper elementor-open-inline\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-video\"><\/div>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-4dc2b12 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"4dc2b12\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Your_First_Models_of_Love_Your_Parents\"><\/span>Your First Models of Love: Your Parents<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-3574bfe elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"3574bfe\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">How your parents behaved as a couple, or showed you love, shapes the image of a partner and of the ideal relationship in your unconscious.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/sandykaufmann.ch\/fr\/72-harville-hendrix-helen-hunt-le-dialogue-imago\/\">Harville Hendrix and Helen LaKelly Hunt<\/a>, the founders of the Imago method, even gave this image a name: the \u201cImago.\u201d According to them, this image of the ideal partner is ultimately the sum of the positive and negative traits of everyone who took care of you in your life (what matters here is the time spent with the child, not simply being the biological parent).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Based on what I\u2019ve observed in my coaching sessions, here are the most common ways your perception of <strong>your parents as a relationship model<\/strong> influences how you relate to others:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">An <strong>uninspiring image of your parents\u2019 relationship<\/strong> can mean that, unconsciously, you avoid \u201cbeing in a couple\u201d \u2014 having, for example, a string of short relationships to avoid repeating your parents\u2019 relationship.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>The way you perceived your parents maintaining their relationship<\/strong> can shape how you behave in a relationship: how they showed each other attention, how they handled conflict, how they managed their emotions, how much priority the couple had compared to the family.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You may also have been shaped by <strong>the gendered division of roles<\/strong>: what a mother\u2019s role is, what place a woman has compared to a mother\u2019s within a couple, what a father\u2019s role is, what place a man has compared to a father\u2019s within a couple, whether it\u2019s ultimately more \u201cadvantageous\u201d to be a woman or a man in a couple. This influence can lead you to adopt certain gendered roles, and can also shape which energy you cultivate most in yourself: yin energy, also called feminine, or yang energy, also called masculine.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>The model you adopt despite yourself.<\/strong> If you noticed one of your parents not fulfilling themselves in their personal life, and you have the impression it\u2019s because of their relationship, you may reject that model while at the same time repeating it in your own relationships, because that model has unconsciously \u201cset the price\u201d of being in a couple. In your love life, the consequence shows up as alternating between long periods of being single, where you feel like yourself and fulfilled, and romantic relationships in which you no longer recognize yourself. For example, if you\u2019re a woman and you saw your mother sacrifice herself for the relationship at the expense of her personal life, or if your mother is the opposite of your ideal of womanhood, you may unconsciously reject being in a couple because the price of being in one feels too high.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>The model you choose despite yourself.<\/strong> This parent may not match at all, or only partly, what you\u2019re looking for, and yet becomes your reference model anyway in your search for a partner, creating a form of unconscious \u201cloyalty\u201d: either you get into a relationship with someone who resembles this model and you suffer, or you go toward your ideal partner and it doesn\u2019t work out. For example, if you\u2019re a woman and your father was a mixed bag \u2014 meaning you could count on him in a certain way (financially, for instance) but you also suffered in that relationship (say, he criticized you, or you feared him, or he was emotionally cold) \u2014 out of loyalty to that model you may unconsciously seek out men like your father (and suffer the same way you did with him), or, on the contrary, get into relationships with men closer to your ideal, but it doesn\u2019t work (they leave, or you sabotage the relationship yourself).<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These last two patterns aren\u2019t gender-specific \u2014 meaning you can adopt your mother\u2019s or your father\u2019s model regardless of your own sex or sexual orientation. They can also form around a stepfather, a stepmother, an older brother or sister if you had an absent parent, adoptive parents, or any person who regularly took care of you.<\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-f6b1f5c elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"f6b1f5c\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Your_Love_Patterns_Are_Recorded_in_Your_Nervous_System\"><\/span>Your Love Patterns Are Recorded in Your Nervous System<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-8a0530c elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"8a0530c\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Most of the coaching clients who start the Opening up to Love program are already fairly aware of how their parents\u2019 relationship model has shaped their view of love.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">They often <strong>consciously look for the opposite model, and are simply surprised to find themselves, in the end, repeating it<\/strong>, either in how they behave or in who they choose as a partner.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What explains this is that your love patterns (what you believe you should do, or believe is possible to receive in love) are recorded at the level of your body, while what you consciously want is defined at the level of your rational brain:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Your automatic reactions in a relationship are recorded at the level of your autonomic nervous system<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The choice of people you\u2019re attracted to isn\u2019t made by your rational brain, but is based on the models you know.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It\u2019s precisely because these patterns are recorded in the body, and not only in your thoughts, that you need to go through a psycho-somatic approach to transform them. patterns, including the models inherited from your parents\u2019 relationship, and to build new relational reflexes \u2014 available as an option in the <a
